Spaghetti Bridge

We chose a truss because we knew it was a strong shape and design.
We used pillars because they help to hold the bridge up. We added anchors at the bottom to them to keep the pillars stable.
We chose to make the span as long as the spaghetti can be.

Thunderstorms

Thunderstorms

It was the middle of winter. The rain was pounding on the roof. The TV was glitching out at times and big flashes of light would appear outside.
I was scared out of my wits as thunder bashed making the house shake violently. Lights flickered, people yelled in the streets. Had this been the start of a horror movie come to life? Would my life come to an end later that night? ...

Inquiry B2- Explain how energy is transferred between states of matter

Heat transfer can take place through three mechanisms. Convection, conduction and radiation. In conduction, heat is transferred with direct contact between objects. Because direct contact can happen in solids, liquids as well as gases, conduction can take place in all three states of matter. Conduction is better in the solid state more than the other two states though. If you heated one end of a metal stick, the other end will also feel hot after a period of time because of conduction.
Convection is the transfer of heat energy through fluids. Convection cannot take place in solids, since solids are not are not fluids. Because of this, convection can only happen with liquids and gases. The boiling of water in a pan happens because of convection.
Radiation does not require any need for heat transfer. However it can transfer heat, but it can happen in a vacuum. It does not need any objects or fluids to transfer heat unlike the other mechanisms.

Hurricanes

Hurricanes

Houses helplessly toppling down on each other.
Wind violently pushing down anything that´s in its path.
Floods gushing along streets and roads.
Citizens waiting in long lines to get into the supermarket.
Trees snapped dead into pieces and halves.
People in horror from the devastation.
Buildings collapsed over roads and homes.
Families await in hotels for the storm to go.

My spring

The beginning of spring

The thunderstorms are here no longer. Yet all the trees are not bare. Although all, the flowers have not blossomed, it does not mean spring is not here. The hot sun shoots rays over the bright green and blue earth. Now the flowers spring to life, and the blossoms on the trees dance in the delicate wind. For, now the animals wake from slumber with, a newborn child.
The grass eats the mud, wanting more space to grow. This all happens in the beginning of spring so I better let you know, plant flowers in your garden, and let them grow and grow.

Sausage Kick: A game unlike any other!

Sausage kick
Created by Me and Jack

You will need:
-5 humans
-1 sausage
-A stick
-1 human sacrifice

1. Get in a circle. Place the sausage on a table and spin it. Whoever it points to is the human sacrifice. Their job is to stop the sausage from getting destroyed.

2. You put two humans on each team. The leftover human is the spare human sacrifice.

3. You place the sausage in the middle of both teams.

4. One team will get the privilege of using the stick. The stick is used for beating up the human sacrifice. If the human sacrifice is hurt and cannot play, the spare human sacrifice comes in. If both human sacrifices cannot play, you play on without one.

5. The aim of the game is to be the first team to destroy the sausage.

Hope you like mine and Jacks awesome game!!!!!
ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Taupaki Park

Taupaki Park

Taupaki Park; Long Windy Paths; Tall Leafy Trees All Round; A Long Grassy Field Stretching Far. It Was My First Time Without Training Wheels. The Bike Swaying Side To Side As I Pedal. The Trees Dancing In The Wind. The Paths Getting Longer As I Go Further. I Start Getting Nervous And Anxious. The Wind Seems To Get Stronger As I Pedal Harder, Until, BANG! The Bike Smashed Over As If A Wave Was Crashing Onto Shore. The Wind Howling With Laughter. I Wasn’t Laughing Back Though. This Will Just Keep Happening Until I Master It. What A Crashing Day It’s Been.

Describing A Bike: Piece One And Two

Piece 2: The Shiny Silver Handle Brakes Connect To A Long Black Metal Wire. When The Handle Brakes Get Pulled Back The Metal Wire Stops The Front Wheel Calmly.

The Leaf

   The Leaf

The Holes Expand Tearing The Leaf More And More Everyday.

The Points Poke With It’s Sharp Edges Anyone That Dares To Touch It.

The Veins Seek Directions Away From It’s Other Fellow Friends.

The Stem Grows Taller As It Gets Older By Day And Starts To Go Brown.

My Static Image Explanation

My Static image explanation

My static image shows if bees were not working anymore. One side shows the bees just relaxing. I chose the honey pool because in the bee movie they relax in them. I chose that shape for the pool so it’s like beeswax or honey-comb. Its all colorful because the bees are happy that their work is over. The bee on the right is cheering “No more work” because bees have never had a day off in their life. The dark orange in pen is showing bubbles of honey like it's bubbling up. The bees are relaxing on the inflatable beach beds.

On the other side is a big black dead tree. I made it black because the place is all dark and gloomy. It's also black because it's dead. The yellow oval on the right represents the bees hive. The beehive is the only colorful thing left. The background is brown because the place is all dark and there's lots of dirty sad rain. The river in the picture is all dirty and brown. In the river are red fish with cross eyes. The cross eyes represent and are trying to tell people the fish are dead. They are dead because the water is polluted and musty. The black things down below are supposed to be flowers. The flowers are black and have drooped. I thought black would be a good color for dead things because I couldn't find a grey pencil. The brown stuff the flowers are sitting on is dead grass because when grass is dead it goes brown. One side is colorful and one side is dark and horrible looking.

My Special Thing

My Special Thing!!!!!!!!!

I remember riding, my small bright sunlight yellow, shiny white trike for the first time. Hard plastic white handles, attached to a yellow metal handle bar. A tow area for toys. Three black thick chunky tyres, and a cushiony white seat. Connected to the tow area is a hole for a hook incase you want to attach it to something. I remember one christmas getting this trike from my Granda and Oma. It was yellow, My favourite colour. What makes this trike very special is that it was from my Granda and sadly he passed away a few months after that  Christmas, I loved that trike. It looked SWAG! I felt so happy, leaping with  excitement!!

My Grandma

Although she is getting old, she still mows the lawns twice a week.
Her skin is wrinkly and tanned like an Autumn leaf.
Even her shiny brown hair on her head glistened in the sun.
Her dark brown eyes like a brown birds nest.
Even her face was wrinkly like waves with her tanned skin and the streams of short hair escaping from the nostrils.
At night she wears a sunset colored nightgown with splashes of color.
Nobody could ever change what she likes.
